Customizing Your Playbook

How to add custom guidance entries, reorder phases, and add notes to phases.

Reason: the live body says you can add notes to any phase or guidance entry and adapt the sequence to
your build. Neither exists. The **Build Playbook** phases and steps are fixed and identical for every
customer and every build type, and there is no note field on a phase or a step. What you *can*
customise is your own **Playbook** (SOP) library, your **To-Dos** and your **Schedule**.
Apply at release; do not change the slug, title or URL.

The eight phases and 60 steps are maintained by OwnerDraw and are the same for a slab-on-grade
cottage and a full basement custom home.

How to adapt the Playbook to your build in practice

**Skip what does not apply.** No step is marked required. Skipping only affects which step the
**Your Next Step** banner shows you next, so tick or ignore freely.

**Record your own decisions where they belong.**

  • A choice you want to remember — write an SOP on the **Playbook** page, or a note on the relevant
  • **Budget** line.
  • Something you must chase — a **To-Do** with a due date.
  • A date or a sequence that matters — a **Schedule** task, where a predecessor genuinely holds a
  • successor back.
  • Your own quality standard for a trade — an SOP, then verify with **QC Checklists**.

**Sequence differences are normal.** Foundation type, trusses versus stick framing and the season all
change your real order of work. Reflect that on **Schedule**, not here — and run the trade's QC
checks regardless of the order you get to them.
