Building Your Construction Schedule

Add tasks, set durations, link dependencies, and use the Gantt view.

Quick path

Go to **Schedule** → **Add Task**, or **Import Template** to start from a standard task list.

Adding tasks

**Add Task** needs **Title**, **Start Date** and **End Date**. Everything else is optional: **Description**, **Status**, **Assigned Vendor**, **Depends On (Previous Task)** and **Mark as Milestone (e.g., Inspection, Draw Date)**.

**Assigned Vendor** is only a label — nobody is notified, and it is separate from assigning a vendor to a Budget line.

The Gantt is the main view

The **Gantt** tab opens first. Bars can be dragged to move a task or resize it to change its duration. **Project start**, **Today** and the zoom buttons above the chart only scroll and zoom — they change no dates. **List**, **Month**, **Week** and **Day** show the same tasks differently.

What dependencies actually do

Setting **Depends On (Previous Task)** records that this task follows another. Then:

• A bar cannot be dragged to start before its predecessor finishes.
• Saving overlapping dates through the form shows a warning naming both tasks and offering to move them. You can decline and keep your dates.
• Dragging a predecessor later pushes the tasks that follow it later. It never pulls anything earlier.
• Deleting a task releases whatever depended on it. Those tasks keep their dates and simply no longer follow anything.

There are no parent phases with child tasks, no critical path, and no percent complete. A task can follow one predecessor only.

Moving dates in bulk

• **Rain Delay** pushes **Not Started** and **In Progress** tasks forward by the calendar days you enter, weekends included. Completed work is untouched.
• Tick tasks, then **Actions** → **Shift Dates** moves every selected task by the number of days you type — negative moves earlier.

Dates are calendar dates; weekends and holidays are not skipped for you.

Templates

**Import Template** creates tasks spaced from the **Project Start Date** you pick, using each template task's stored day offset. The confirmation offers an undo straight afterwards. **Manage Templates** lists imports under **Imported Templates** and can remove all tasks from one import — including your edits to them. Only new-construction templates can be selected; others show **(Coming Soon)**.

Your lender

OwnerDraw does not send your schedule anywhere, and the schedule is not a page in the Bank Ready packet. Export or screenshot the Gantt yourself if your lender asks for it.

> TIP: Set **Mark as Milestone** on inspections and draw dates so they stand out as diamonds.

What happens next

Record costs in **Expenses** as work completes, and use the task's **QC Checklist** for inspections.
