Budget Reports and Exports

How to export your budget as PDF, what reports include, and sharing with your lender.

What you can export today

Select **Export** in the Budget toolbar. The dialog offers two views:

  • **Bank View (Rolled Up)** — totals grouped by category. This is the summary most lenders want with a draw request.
  • **Detailed View** — every individual line.

Pick a view, check the preview, then select **Export CSV**.

A **CSV** is a plain table file. Open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, or attach it to an email. The file is named after your project and the view you chose.

The Budget page's export produces a CSV. It does not produce a PDF. Lender-facing PDFs come from elsewhere in OwnerDraw: draw request packets on the **Draw Requests** page, and the full lender packet on **Bank Ready**.

What the export contains

The same amounts you see on screen, calculated the same way: Original, approved Changes, Revised, Actual Cost, Remaining Commitment and Unspent Budget, with your cost codes. Definitions are in [Understanding Your Budget Amounts](/help/budget/actual-vs-budget).

Exports are a snapshot of the moment you create them. Nothing in your project changes when you export, and the file is not stored in OwnerDraw — it downloads to your device.

Sending it to your lender

1. Export the **Bank View (Rolled Up)** file.
2. If your lender wants line detail as well, export the **Detailed View** too.
3. Attach both to your email, or upload them wherever your lender collects documents.

If the request is for a draw rather than the budget itself, use the **Draw Requests** page instead — that produces the G702/G703 forms lenders ask for.

Snapshots versus exports

**Snapshots** save a copy of the budget inside OwnerDraw so you can compare later. Exports create a file to send out. They are separate tools.

Common questions

**Can I choose which columns to export?** Not currently. Choose the rolled-up or detailed view, then trim the file in your spreadsheet if needed.

**Does the export include my expenses and receipts?** It includes the recorded Actual Cost per line. Individual receipts live with the expenses and in Files.

For professional builders

The rolled-up view aggregates by NAHB category and is intended to reconcile with the schedule of values used on draws; the detailed view preserves line-level cost codes and cost type.

**Verification note:** The export dialog, both view options, the CSV output and the download file name were confirmed by inspecting the current app code and opening the export dialog. A file was not downloaded from a live project during this documentation pass.
